Why I Became an Audiologist

Brady Rives owes her career in audiology to her grandmother. Her grandmother had experienced hearing loss in her 30s due to a medical condition and had personally benefited so much from the field of audiology. While at Auburn University, Brady was unsure about which career path to take. She was interested in speech therapy because her father had benefited from it, but her grandmother convinced her that audiology was the way to go. She received her Au.D. from the University of South Alabama, and now her grandmother is her patient.
